Blog 1/3:  Individual Field Study:

During the first stage of my field study, I explored different topics related to sustainability and textile management. I searched for articles in Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) using keywords related to the circular economy, textile recycling, sustainable fashion, and waste management.

While reading different articles, I noticed that many studies focus on textile recycling technologies and sustainable production. However, there are fewer studies that provide a complete overview of how textile waste is managed after consumers discard their clothes and what challenges exist in creating a circular textile system.

This research gap motivated me to choose the topic "Post-Consumer Textile Waste Management Practices and Challenges in a Circular Economy." My goal is to understand current waste management practices, identify key challenges, and explore opportunities.

At the moment, I have developed search strings with the help of my teacher, am now screening articles, and am building the foundation of my literature review.
