Mass production, fast fashion, disposable fashion,
economies of scale are some concepts that have taken over the fashion industry
for the past couple of years. However, today’s consumer have become much more
aware and conscious, thereby; they have started preferring quality over
quantity and slow authentic fashion over fast fashion. Hence, an increase in
hand crafted products. These products are liked as they not only fulfill the
functional needs of the wearer but also have a story behind them which
satisfies the emotional needs of the user. Moreover, hand crafted products are unique
and one of its kind, unlike the main stream fashion. It is because of an increase in the demand of
such products that brands like Popinjay come into existence and become
successful. As such brands offer more transparency about the production process
and people behind it.
