Another week of my internship has passed, and time really flies!
The last week was quite busy since spring is coming up, which means a lot of parents are buying toys for their kids to play with outside. For the buying department this means replenishment of products that are out of stock, an important task to make sure that the customers get what they want. When a lot of new products are launched, it is really important that the prices are set correctly (and not above the competitors prices). Therefore, I compared some of our prices with the main competitors, to ensure that we can catch the customers that are looking for the best prices.
I also had the opportunity to participate in a vendor meeting, which was interesting since the relationships with vendors are of great importance for any company that wishes to be profitable. With good relationships with vendors, better prices can be negotiated and the whole process of buying new products will be easier. I am glad to have learned about the role as a buyer, and I am looking forward to continue my internship ☺
I wish you all a great week, hopefully with a lot of sunshine!
