Off to factory!

The moment when everything is finally collected (from patterns to fabrics and trimmings), put into the box and ready to send to the factory equals pacing down for a little bit. Until the box comes back, no more suppliers research, ordering fabric, confirming the orders, confirming the order one more time (just to be sure), asking for invoices etc.

No more emails and phone calls. Time to rest update inventory, reorganise the stock… Until something goes wrong in sample production. Fabric which was supposed to be sent from a supplier directly to the factory still on the way? Factory’s having a little delay because of x reason? Welcome to my world!

And once you fix all of those and the samples arrive, you open the box like a kid who just found a Christmas gift. A little bit nervous, though. Of course you try to be positive and hope for the best, but life is life you shall never be too sure that you’re gonna love the outcome. After all, samples are called samples for a reason. Wrong sewing, wrong button placement, a little bit too long sleeve? And  everything goes back to the beginning.

But once you’re (or actually the designer’s) finally happy with the result, we can start real production!

Tschüss!
