Resaerch Internship at Handelslabbet (3/3)

 Hi fellas!

Hope everyone enjoyed the summer break with lots of fun.. Same here as well :) So again planning to come give a kick start for the new semester. So before start the new semester, I would like to share some insides about my research internship with Handelslabbet. 

It was so much of fun with lots of experiences into AI and Robotics. During my research internship I got to study about robotics involvement in retail environment and improvements that will happen in near future in our society with the continuous improvement of technology. 

These days I am planning on my task to arrange the window display for the new semester. Excited for it!

Handelslabbet was an ideal space to get some AI and Mestaverse experiences. I really enjoyed with the visitors as well who excited to try our exciting equipments at the lab. Once you are free do not forget to visit our lab at the textile building on Tuesday 14.00 onwards..

My Internship Journey-(3/3)

 

             

Dear Mates!

Hope all of you are doing good.

My internship period will soon be going to over. I have had such a positive experience and everyone in the company has been so supportive and welcoming. I have gained some insight into the production process in the denim industry.

My last weeks will be focusing on working tasks connected to the quality and sustainability project that I am taking care. I am now summarizing all the outcomes of these projects so that I can hand over it by this month properly. In the upcoming last days of my internship, I will focus on making the most of the time, both work wise and in terms of enjoying Stockholm city. It has been amazing months and I am so happy that I got the opportunity to experience this.

My Internship Journey-(2/3)

 

Hey All !

Hope all of you are doing good J.

I have finished my first 02 month of 04-month internship program. In my first blog I gave little bit introduction about the company and my responsibility. In this time period I was involved in lots of tasks and have learned a lot. This brand sells their product through both wholesaler and their own online platform. We have just finished our next season product development. Last month we had a kick-off in our Stockholm office where wholesaler agent from Norway and Germany came to see our collection and based on this, they will place the orders. It was a great day with fun. The agents really liked our collection and also gave their input which might be interesting to have in our collection. As a sustainable brand we also tag what materials and why we are using in our product in order to be more sustainable. I gave a brief description on the sustainable materials that we used in our product and also about the techniques how these materials are produced. I was appreciated a lot on my small presentation on sustainability perspective and it was a nice feeling I must say. Right now, I am developing sustainable trims and making a business case such as what’s the price, lead-time, and quality issues so that we can use it for our next season product. Apart from this, I am  working with the supplier to collect certificates against all the sustainable materials that we are using. I am also involved in  system related task to upload different data such as new product, purchase order, measurement chart etc. I am also contributing in product quality control part such as making a summery on which part we got customer claim most for our product, and analyzing the root cause along with the concern supplier to find out the reason and also the way to minimize in future.

So overall I can say, I am really enjoying my task and  acquiring lots of practical knowledge which I belief will definitely add value in my future career. I will share more regarding my experience for the last 02 month of internship in my last Blog.

 Hi everyone!

I have now had my last day on my internship and its been an amazing experience and I have learned so much during these past weeks. Since i last wrote i was in the newsletter team and took part in meetings regarding the automatic newsletter that the customer will get once they sign up. I have also done an external analysis to see how other competitors are presenting their newsletter on site and how they are structured. Then I also did an external analysis of customer loyalty which i thought was super interesting to deep dive in. Other things that have happened since last time i wrote is that its been a summerparty at the office with flowers as a theme. Sweden as always lived up to its reputation and the rain was pouring, but the party was fun anyway. The last weeks i spent with the growth team where i have gathered information about facebook ads and found statistics on different search words for example.

 Hey Everyone

Here is my last blog on very last day of field study. Hope, you guys enjoyed your last few days of field studies. I was really busy for last couple of weeks for having interviews for my project. 

As you know, my topic was traceability for circularity of textiles, at the end of the project, I must say, it is a matter of concern regarding in what extent fashion brands are realizing the importance of traceability for recycling textiles. Even though, some brands already started practicing, but this is all for consumer perspective, ignoring the requirement on further stages of product life cycle.

Anyway, I have been writing my report and working on presentation as well.

RAI - FTA Internship (3/3)

Hey guys !

This is already my last Blogspot entry for the field study. Although the last weeks were a little hectic and busy, it went by even quicker. We have further strengthen and extended the research. By analysing the gathered dataset of related tweets from Twitter with a LDA topic model analysis and a following semantic analysis, I could make up prevailing topics in the dataset and analyse these based on their semantic. This showed interesting results, which sometime are very much in contrast to current literature.

I have to say besides the unfortunate change of research methodology throughout the project, I have learned a lot about working and analysing large datasets in Python and I am very thankful to Vijay who helped me a lot on the entire project, even with the stupidest questions.

We will be presenting the outcome of our research in the next week in Stockholm and will participate in a research conference hosted by the FT Alliance in September this year.

Now I am doing my finishing touches for the report and presentation and are looking much forward to the Summer break.

The last week of my internship (post 3/3)

 Dear Classmates,

The internship is coming to an end and this will be my final post here. In my last post, I mentioned that I was working on creating a sustainability page for the company. This has been very fun and interesting, as I have gained a lot of knowledge about how a company can work with sustainability in the textile industry. From a creative perspective, it has been a lot of fun because I have been able to freely design and come up with ideas of how the page should look graphically. In addition to this, I was able to use knowledge that I have gained from the program to write the content on the page. The sustainability page is now finished and is scheduled to be uploaded on the website of Newbody Family at the end of this week. Lastly, I would like to mention that I have truly enjoyed my internship at Newbody Family. My internship position allowed me to experience and understand the tasks and activities of different departments as well as how the departments work together. I believe that this will be my biggest takeaway from my time here, as it provided me with a broad understanding of how a company in the textile industry operates instead of just understanding one department.

I can't believe that it's already the end of May ... The last couple of weeks have been busy with collections launches, photoshoots, sample requests and taking pictures and filming for social media. I really appreciate the time I have had here - it has been so much fun learning new things!

So, during my last week here I will focus on completing the field study report, work and enjoy Copenhagen with Klara and Linnea!

Hej everyone,

How is it going with the end of your internship? I have been reading some of the posts and I am glad that we are really enjoying this part of our program. I am also at the end of my research internship and I got something for you to enjoy as well. So take a fika and spend some time reading my final blog.

If you have read my previous posts you already know that I started my research internship with Handelslabbet at our University on CLO3D. With their exceptional work on different optical devices like Tobii eye tracker glasses, VR setup, and Microsoft's AR glasses (Also known as holoLens) I was introduced to a very fun and interactive research direction. I was challenged to find out newer ways to visualize the designs of CLO. 

Even though CLO is a very powerful software that has a very good simulating capability of the designer's clothes, and with continuous support and updates it keeps getting better, there are some obvious and tiring restrictions for repurposing the design to other platforms that are quite popular among general users. So, in the last few weeks, I have been making many designs and exporting them from CLO to many other platforms and solving technical problems to find out the ideal way to introduce the result of CLO or any other digital designing tools to the generic end-users. 

If you have read the title of the blog you have probably guessed where I have put my designs into. We have successfully developed clothes and created animations to mimic fashion ramp with some minor problems and took it to a VR world for you to see. If you are here during the Exit program on the 3rd of June you are welcome to try it out. You can also check them out online if you don't have access to a VR headset. As the purpose of this research was to take it to the regular people all over the world. Feel free to ask me for an invitation to the VR world if you want to check it out.

The internship period is soon over and from what I have read here, it seems that it has been appreciated and taught us many new things!

My last weeks have been focusing on working tasks connected to a new collection drop and all what it entails. Besides that, I have been working with a lot of clippings and more content related tasks, which has been super fun! 

In the upcoming last days of my internship, I will focus on making the most out of the time, both work wise and in terms of enjoying Copenhagen. It has been amazing months and I am so happy that I got to experience this.

 Hi everyone! I hope you're doing great!

I had my last day at RevolutionRace and it feels very sad because I had a really great time at the office with great colleagues, but the journey isn't over yet since I will be working there during summer, as they offered me a job :) 

The last week on my internship I got to activate a lot of my profiles that went live on instagram. When I say they went live, it just means that they made their post and story on instagram where they also promoted RR and gave their followers a discount code, it was very exciting to see influencers working with their creativity and showing off their lifestyle, but also see what each and everyone generated in sales!

Anyway, I had a superfun experience and as mentioned before I worked a lot with influencer marketing, which was superfun and as I believe, a beneficial marketing strategy for the future marketing communication.

It's a wrap! - Blogpost (3/3)

 Hi,

The last few weeks have been hectic as I have created most of the material (both image and text) for this summer. Together with my team, I have planned and prepared the summer campaign for the coming season, which has been fun. As I mentioned in the previous blog post, I am responsible for developing visual ideas. A few weeks ago, I came across a talented illustrator in Japan who has now created content for me ahead of this campaign. We were all happy and satisfied with the result.

I am very grateful for my last months as an intern. Above all, I am thankful for my team and all the knowledge they have shared with me. I bring with me newfound knowledge for the future.

RAI with Retail Lab - Jannatul (3/3)

 Hej,

I am just at end of my research internship. The whole experience is incredibly nice. My teacher was so supportive on each step where I need. Last week I was mainly focused on my final report drafting and poster making.

One of the students & teacher made the fashion show catwalk on 3D VR. Meantime I worked on how metaverse is used in the current industry and what can be forthcoming goals to focus on. No wonder future retail life will be mostly focused on online or virtual services. Same time there will be some problems with virtual services like the absence of practical feels. However, metaverse will turn a new era on each step of brand promotion, product development, trendsetting, marketing, or business format.

This week I will work on the retail lab and same time keep finalizing my report.

Hope you all had a great time during the field study period. Now time to enjoy the summer! :)

The last weeks as an PR assistant - Klara (3/3)

 Hi everyone,

 

I hope you are all doing well and still enjoying your internship! 

 

In my last blogpost I wrote about the struggle to find a place in Europe with snow for a winter campaign shoot. The shoot took place on the highest point of Germany, the Zugspitze.

The weather was perfect and there was still snow on top of the mountain!

 

The weeks just now are very busy due to a high amount of request, photo shoots and collection launches. And then are the weeks at the moment also extra short due to holidays.

 

It is very nice that I have my own responsibilities. I can decide with which magazines for which shoot we are working together and which retailers we prioritize in sending samples for shoots. 

It feels like I have learnt a lot during that time and I can solve most of the problems alone, as there is still no new Head of PR hired. 

 

The time goes by so fast I cannot believe that next week is already the last week. Probably I will be back for Copenhagen Fashion Week to help out, but first I want to enjoy the summer for a bit ☀️

 Hi classmates! 

A few more weeks have past since i wrote my first blog post! In the past weeks i have supported the external brands team and been learning about the company's product lifecycle management system and spent time uploading products into the system and also confirming orders. I've learned a lot since I started here and been supporting several people in their work. This week I am helping the company's stylist with styling and preparations before a photoshoot with pieces for this fall and will take place in a couple of weeks. Some of the things i've done so far is putting together different alternative outfits, booking pickup and hotel stays for the models that will be working during the photoshoot and also compiled a document with information about models that the company are interested to work with in the future. Its fun and very hectic. Next week I will be joining another team that are working with the companys newsletter, which is a huge focus for this company's marketing department.

Dear all!

Hope you are all doing amazing, and having a great time at your internship so far!

The last couple weeks for me were all about organising a paid influencer campaign, and that was so much fun to do. I have learnt so much, as this process is completely different from the process of influencer gifting what I learned before. It is interesting to see all the different rates influencers charge and to build a strategy around the different campaign launches. Also I get to know my colleagues better and better, which makes it so much more fun and enjoyable. They asked me to stay a bit longer during the summer break, which will be a great opportunity to learn even more and get more experience in this field. I’m super excited for that!

As this is my last post, I hope you all have a great summer and hope to see you next September at the university!

Hey everyone,

Hope you guys are doing good with your field studies.

It has been a long time since I posted my first blog on my ongoing project. After that, several meetings have been done with the Ft-Alliance supervisor and university supervisor. I presented my research questions and prepared an interview guide as well. They advised some instructions regarding collecting data through interviews and suggested some relevant company names related to the topic, which helped me to fast-forward with my work.

Above all, I found it hard in regards of communicating or convincing the companies for participating in interviews for my project. Initially, I went through the company websites for having their contact info, and after that, used LinkedIn as well for having better connectivity with them. Sent several emails and now waiting for their positive reply. Hopefully, within the next two weeks, I will be done with my pending work. In between, my university supervisor also helped me for collecting relevant data using Text Mining, which is new to me.

Oh! One more thing, last week, my FT-Alliance supervisor visited our university, and we had a meeting with other masters' students. It was an insightful session with super interesting topics.

RAI - FTA Internship (2/3)

Hey guys hope you are fine !

my last weeks mainly consisted of finding appropriate companies and contacting these to arrange a meeting. However, since many companies have no interest or availability in taking part in the study, it was more about finding the right strategy to get through to the right people and be successful with arranging an interview.

Hence we focused our last meeting with Vijay and Frederic from WLY on an additional extension of my research work, by text-mining documents and twitter feeds. This should help to compensate the little information I am retrieving from interviews and helps to give an additional perspective on the research.

Text Mining is a process which uses natural language processing (NLP) to analyse text on patterns and coherences. To search through twitter I formulated a query with specific keywords, which a tweet must contain. Twitter then sends you back a file with tweets that match the query. This gathered data needs to be further cleaned and filtered for the analysis.

Tokenisation: Splits sentence in its words and makes them a string. This step makes it easier for the further processing to recognise the words of a sentence.

Lemmatisation: Lemmatisation takes every word and reduces it to the word stem. This means words like worked or working will be reduced to work, since it’s the original root word. If this is not done the words would appear as individual words and this can distort the analysis.

Followed are these main processing steps, by a filter which only shows words, which appear more than ten times, links to pictures and urls are dropped and characters are filtered, to only leave the information which is important to the analysis.

In the analysis I then took a look into the most frequent words and how they appeared over time. This helps to understand how and what people are tweeting about my research topic.

I additionally want to word mine CSR and sustainable reports and make them same processes to the sentence that contain the keywords. Since time is very limited in this research I will maybe only focus on a few reports.

With a presentation of our finding in the beginning of June this project will be finished, but till then I will have written my third report and tell you more.

I hope I could give you a good idea about what I have been doing over the last weeks and what I am looking forward too.

 Hi everyone!

These last couple of weeks have been so much fun and I do really enjoy the co-workers, the whole team and the work that I've been doing since start. 

I have a lot of contact with influencers i Switzerland and I have started a collaboration with several people now. I work with so called "seed-profiles" which are the lowest segment of influencer, with other words, they don't get paid at all but get to choose one pair of trousers and jacket in exchange for posting two pictures and two stories on their instagram during a period of three months. As soon my profiles have received the clothes that I have sent them, we will cordinate a date for post 1! 

The job is a bit stressful from time to time since we have a weekly goal regarding sourcing profiles, contact profiles and in best case scenario, activate them (set a date for a post) but it's very funny and my contact person have been more than helpful and supportive during these weeks!

I really looking forward to the next step in the process! In the meantime, take care and enjoy the last weeks of your internship!

My Internship Journey-(1/3)

Dear Mates !

Hope all of you are doing great with your internship and Field Study J.

I am very excited to share that I have been done with my first 02 weeks of my internship.

I really enjoy working at this company and the people working here are also so nice and welcoming. It’s a great place to work. My internship title is “Production and Sourcing intern” and I work together with two other girls in the production team. 

The Stockholm based fashion brand where I am doing my internship, basically their main product is Denim but they have also woven, jersey and knit product but in small portion. Here my main responsibility is assisting with the product development, sampling, and production of upcoming collections, communication with external suppliers to ensure that everything runs smoothly, monitoring and reporting of the progress of the running productions, analyzing and reporting of stock levels and sales figures to assist in the order planning, work closely with the buying, production and sourcing team, assisting with everything from developing the  collection to planning the production and the procurement of the goods. As I have just started so right now I am quite busy to have an understanding on the working procedure, the styles for new collection and what’s the running production, supplier capability, lead time and so on. I have already started contributing in the product quality control project. In addition to it I have also started working on product sustainability issues. I will share more about my experience in my next and last blog post.

 Hello everyone,

Time sure has flown quickly when you enjoy your time am I right?

The last couple of weeks were very busy weeks for me and I am sure for everyone else. If you read my earlier blog you know I have been working with handelslabbet and developing clothes digitally. I have learned quite a lot of cool things to do with the software. Currently, I am tweaking how to render and make a visually pleasing video to represent designs on CLO. This results into the idea of representation of the work with handelslabbet.

I have been working with handelslabbet to develop 3D clothing designs to showcase them in VR. We are currently making designs and figuring out ideas on how to export the design from CLO and import it to the VR world without losing any content. A very small and rough idea of our plan is given below.

I just found its kind of middle on my research assistant internship, and how fast time has gone!

Hope everyone is enjoying their time and learning something new. 😊

Weeks back, I had my eye tracking training with Gina tricot. The full training was aimed to understand consumers attention frequency on store visit, what the focus on a product screening and consumers mind set to buy. The full training was separated student group wise in three days.

However, these experimental data will be also helpful for Gina tricot to understand their specific product popularity and future business management.

By this time, I have worked on company research, article and journal review to understand how meterverse are impacting on brands future goals. Though some of brands are utilizing it, yet it’s in start level.

My aim to look on company’s perspective and challenges to adopt metaverse. I will finalize my field study report in next few weeks. Also, will have some more training session in different project with retail lab coordinator.

In last blog, I will share my outcome of my research internship.
