Blog Michelle 2/3

 Dear all!

Can’t believe I am already at my internship for a month, completely agreeing with everyone's previous blog post, time goes by so fast!

The previous three weeks were a bit hectic, because of the ‘short’ weeks due Easter and the end month targets that needed to be reached. As my internship company works with different clients they agreed on several targets with the clients that need to be reached each month. Because they are short-staffed and the ‘short’ weeks due Easter everyone worked super hard in order to reach all the different targets. This gave me the opportunity to learn how to prioritise the different tasks which are my responsibility and to dive deeper into the different tasks in order to get a deeper understanding of them. Working with monthly targets is completely new for me, but I really like working with them as now I can really work towards different goals.

Next week my supervisor will introduce me to the process of paid influencer campaigns, because in the coming month I will run my own paid influencer campaign from the beginning till the end. I am super excited for that, becaise this in combination with the influencer gifting gives me a broad overview of the whole influencer marketing process. I will tell you more about my experience in my next and last blog post.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!

All the best!

Björn Borg Internship (2/3)

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all enjoying your field study!

I am nearly half way done with my internship at Björn Borg. We just completed our Global Brand Summit this week where we had two days of presentations and training events. It was so nice to meet our global partners and learn more about Björn Borg's vision for the future. In my general daily tasks, I have done an analysis on the environmental impact of various fabrics, which I will present in the next coming weeks. I've continued to learn about Björn Borg's sustainability strategies related to our direct and indirect social and environmental impacts. I just began writing my report, as the end of my internship seems to be coming so soon! I look forward to continuing my internship experience.

All the best!

Developing a sustainability webpage (post 2/3)

 Dear Classmates,

Time really goes by so fast and it has now been almost a month since I started my internship at Newbody. I have really enjoyed my internship so far and it is truly a welcoming and great workplace. Since I last wrote here, I have been developing a strategy on how to communicate sustainability on their company website and developed a plan on how to build a sustainability webpage. Today I presented my ideas to the marketing team and the CEO of the company and they really liked the presentation and the ideas. The plan is now to start building the sustainability page, based on this. I have created a format and structure of the page and this week and the upcoming week I will be writing texts and finalizing pictures for the page together with my great colleague Amanda. Once this is done, all information will be sent to our e-commerce manager and marketing coordinator to start the process of putting everything together for publication. I am super excited to be participating in this as well and see everything come to life! Hopefully, it will be up and running by the time I write my final blog post so that you all get to see the final result!

As I mentioned in my last post, my internship position has given me the possibility to get insight into many different parts of the company. This is something that I have found really interesting. In addition to the tasks that I am working on related to sustainability, I have also been participating in product development meetings and writing product descriptions for products on the webshop, which is super fun.

I hope that you all are enjoying your internship and I am looking forward to reading what you have been doing during the past month! 😊

All the best,

Andrea

RAI - FTA Internship (1/3)

Hey guys,

hope you are all doing well !

For my field study project, I have been selected to take part in the Fashion-Tech Alliance (FTA) residency Internship. The FTA is an academic-industry program, where companies are collaborating with universities, to facilitate the exchange and flow of knowledge within the Fashion-Tech field. The Project is co-founded by the European Unions’s Erasmus+ Program and is supported by several companies from fashion and technology branches. As participants from the Swedish school of textiles, we are placed with the Swedish consulting agency WLY, with which we plan, carry out and draft our research project.

Over the last weeks we have been proposing our research ideas and discussing possible research directions, where an observation would be interesting. Over this time the initial idea has changed a lot and through the consultation of WLY we have received valuable assistance on the relevance of the research.

For my research I decided for the growing interest in renting schemes within the fashion industry. Several companies in different industries have already implemented rentals, but in fashion there are still only few companies who offer this business model to customers. Scholars therefore analysed barriers and drivers of renting schemes in fashion and also examined the real sustainable effect of a rental business in fashion.

I want to take a step back with my research and question rental business models in general. Sure companies are implementing this business model and probably more are even thinking about doing so, but is it really the future of fashion consumption ? My research should analyse how serious companies are about the implementation and change of their business model or do they see just a nice little marketing story which can increase their green image ?

In the next weeks I will be interviewing several companies and try to understand more about their real motives with rental schemes in fashion.

So... If you are as excited about the outcome as I am, then stay tuned for the following next Blogspot entry. :)

Wish you all a nice field study period.

regards,

Fabian

IFS_ FTalliance_ Blog-post by Arafat (1/3)

Hello everyone,

I hope you guys are doing well with your field studies.

I started my Individual Field Study with Fashion-Tech Alliance on a Project Internship position and already, more than three weeks have passed since I started collaborating with them.

For those who are unfamiliar with this consortium, FTalliance is a three-year academic-industry co-operated Knowledge Alliance Project co-founded by the European Union's Erasmus+ Programme with the goal of facilitating the exchange and flow of knowledge within the Fashion-Tech sector. On the very first week, I was placed with one of the hosting companies, WLY, an innovation consultancy agency focusing on the fashion industry, helping companies to find new strategies, business models, and revenue streams.

From project proposal, selection to confirmation, it was full of excitement. Traceability for circularity in textiles is the topic on which I have been working. The purpose of this project is to identify how fashion brands can improve the existing state of traceability for the circularity of textiles. To make it more interesting, the project would be accomplished considering not only from the brand's perspective but also from the sorters'/recyclers' perspective.

Several zoom meetings have already taken place with the WLY supervisor and the university supervisor. They have always been super supportive. Several presentations were also delivered from my end as well. I am looking forward to meeting WLY supervisor physically next week.

I will be right back after a few weeks with updates regarding my project. Enjoy your field studies.

Have a nice weekend!

Internship blogspot - alma (2/3)

Hey all,

Hope you all enjoy your internships!

Now two more weeks have passed at my internship. I am finished with the information booklet and the company is really happy about it and tells me that it will help them to spread the word about the product in a much better way than before. I am happy that they are!

At the moment I contact possible future customers, I try to connect with all municipalities in Sweden because I believe that's the best way to find future customers. I can definitively say that I learn to contact people and possible ways of finding the person I think is the one who we should then contact to show the product.

I enjoy my time here and the possibilities to think by myself and if I need help from my supervisor he always support me!

Have a nice weekend!

Research Assistant Internship at Handelslabbet - The Retail Lab (1/3)

Hi friends,

Time is flying with our busy schedules and I have made to come for the second week of my internship at Handelslabbet. So far the experience is cool. Last week we conducted an eye tracking experiment with graduate students of Högskolan at Gina Tricot for an experimental assignment to know the students retail experiences in the sense of buying jeans. I am really happy that I was a part of the team to help out them to conduct the assignment with our eye tracking glasses at the lab. It is so exciting to monitor the eye movement of buyers with an advanced technology. The equipment records the vision of the wearer and the eye movement in the same screen for later analysis. We are on process of working on the results now. Hoping to share some insides with you guys after seeing the experimental results.

Further, I start reading more about the CLO 3D, meta verse and visual merchandising aspects in order to build a theme to showcase at the retail lab window display. At the moment not focused to a theme as so much ideas are coming through. I hope that I will finalise it soon and excited to see the outcome.

Hoping to share more experiences in the next post. So goodbye for now!

Regards,
Salini

Blog post 1 Caroline vt 2022

Hi all beautiful human beings!

The first couple of weeks here at my internship have been great and I feel excited! I have learned tons and the foundation built during our previous courses in our education can really be put into test and action. The internship is flexible since the task is well defined and I can distribute my work, plan and time how I desire which is great. Although, I am taking the advantage by being on place as much as I can.

The task I am having is to map out the textile cluster of Sjuhärad/Borås and how you as a stakeholder within this cluster can gain advantage by operating here in order to generate a networking.

This week I have interviews with people working in the industry within the cluster which is super-exciting to hear the experience and thoughts they are having. Next step is to transcribe and connect to theory to, hopefully, gain an understanding in how to use this data.

Until next time - stay awesome!

Blog Post by Shafin 1/3 (CLO3D)

 Hej everyone,

I hope you are all doing well with your field study / Internship in your respective field. I started my research internship with the help of Handelslabbet at Högskolan i Borås. The field I am working in is to understand and develop garments with the help of 3D design software CLO3D.

CLO3D is one of the widely used design tools in the fashion industry. The purpose of the software is to design apparel with the help of 2D patterns and simulate the garments on a 3D avatar. This allows designers, product developers, and manufacturers a great deal of understanding of a particular product in an initial stage.

There are quite a number of features that you can do with the help of the software. This makes the software quite complex for new users. This is why my first task was to find out tutorials to guide me in the designing stage. I can say that I am getting used to the interface and figuring out the necessary tools that CLO offers to its users. Features include creating 2D and 3D sketches, sewing garments digitally, adding accessories like buttons, zippers, etc., simulation, and rendering the garments to see the movement and drapes.

I have also participated in a lecture provided by Maja Maria Design. A company that solely works with this tool. I will also participate in another workshop on digital textiles and digital work tools by Teko.

Until then, cheers!

P.S: I'll try to share some of the work here in this blog

Blog post Joanna (1/3)

 Hello my lovely classmates 🐣

I hope you all are having a good time at your internships! I’ve now completed three weeks of mine, and I completely agree with the previous blog post - it is crazy how fast time flies!

My internship is at a Danish fashion brand with headquarters in Denmark. I have my internship at the PR & Marketing department, which is located in Copenhagen. There are only five people in the office and everyone has been very welcoming. I enjoy being in such a small group because I’m therefore in the mix of their daily work and learning about their roles even if I'm not doing the same things. My first three weeks have overlapped with the previous intern's internship, and that has been very helpful.

My task so far has been to communicate with influences, gifting, handling samples, responsibility for image bank, maintenance of their website, help create content for social media, participation in events, and maintenance of the showroom. It has been exciting to gain new experiences and knowledge, but it has also been intense to learn everything, mostly in Danish and in a new city.

Today is the last day of our Easter break! I will be attending a strategy meeting for an upcoming campaign and there will also be a photoshoot during next week, so I'm looking forward to being back. It's exciting to see what I'll learn next and to gain more insights into what a job in fashion marketing actually looks like.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and can’t wait to hear more about your internships!!

Blog post 1/3 - PR Assistant (Linnea)

Hello everyone! 👋

I hope that all of you are doing great with your field study so far!

Three weeks ago I started my internship at a Danish luxury women’s wear brand here in Copenhagen. I know, crazy how fast time flies, I can’t believe it is week 3 already? I see some of us have this time perception in common. 😃

I really enjoy working at the company and the people working here are also so nice and welcoming. My internship title is a PR Assistant and I work together with two other girls in the PR & Marketing team.

These first weeks have been very exciting but of course also a bit stressful in terms of getting to learn everything. I started working on full speed pretty much since day one. But is has also given me the opportunity to get into the team and to get to know the tasks quite fast. My main tasks are managing samples, giftings, communicating with influencers, showroom management and update press reports. I have been organising collection overviews and working with PR merchandising a bit as well.

Overall I am very happy with my company and the team! At the time of writing this I am actually on my way home for some days during Easter break, to spend some time with my family and friends. When I am back at the office after this break, we have a three-day-photoshoot coming up, which I am very excited about!

I wish you all a nice Easter and I hope you get some nice days off as well! ❤

My first weeks as a PR assistant- Klara (1/3)

 Hi all!

Hope you are doing well so far and you get to enjoy the new experiences in your internships.

The time goes by so fast it is crazy! Right now, I am already in week 3 of my internship, for which I relocated to Copenhagen.

I am working in the Marketing and Communication department of a company with two brands for the female market. Both brands are very different, which makes the work very interesting.

While one brand is, among other things, famous for their sparkling party dresses and their creative directors, who are well known influencers. The other brand focusses more on creating pieces for a modern elegant wardrobe.

So far, my tasks included communication with influencers, press and wholesales partners and the support with product seeding strategies for exclusive pieces. I also got the opportunity to assist at a photoshoot and could also join planning meetings/ location scouting’s for the upcoming fashion show at the Copenhagen Fashion Week in august.

I am looking forward what else I will learn in the upcoming weeks!

Tomorrow our Easter break starts, and I am looking forward to explore Copenhagen a bit outside of the internship.

Hope you all have a lovely Easter break!!!

/Klara

RAI with Retail Lab - Jannatul (1/3)

Hello all,

I have started my research assistance internship with the retail Lab – Handelslabbet at University of  Borås. There were a few opportunities for choosing a topic like digital marketing, eye tracking research, clo3D, and visual merchandising. I fixed to work on Metaverse and how it incremental possibilities for fashion brands.

It was a pleasure to meet the coordinator & rest team from the retail lab on 4th April. There are two more interns. So we all conferred our ideas and thoughts first. Metaverse is a very unique thing for me but I happily accepted the challenges to analyze a new vision. During that meeting, we got the fundamental concept of our project objective and a quick brief about how the retail lab is performing. The retail lab already created a virtual estate with a gallery, office room even a stunning seaside view. I used virtual reality gears which are so thrilling experience.

In the 1st week, I worked through how metaverse has started and which retail brands are utilizing it. Up to now, it is yet in a primary stage like operating a virtual showroom, NFT, nonwearable clothes, and some collaboration with further gaming companies. Last month there was an entire virtual fashion show participating around 60 brands. That program was set by metaverse and a few more startup firms. This could open a new era in this industry. However, the research is still ongoing and I intended to look at prospective opportunities as well as possibilities of retail brands with Metaverse.

I attended a seminar of Maja Maria Design AB which performs on clo3d. Their services are included pattern design, grading, sewing visualization, sample sewing, and printing for fashion brands. They conferred about their business journey, clo3D functions, and so on.

So far my 2 weeks have gone so well. I will join eye-tracking experiments with Gina Tricot this week and hope to explore more new things.

My First Weeks (1/3)

Almost a month has passed since I started my internship at Care of Carl. For those who are not familiar with the company, Care of Carl is an e-commerce store providing carefully selected quality brands for men. Additionally, the company offers an online magazine that is available for everyone. The magazine is filled with everything from fashion to architecture. Speaking of the magazine – I will work with the editor, responsible for creating and providing illustrations to the magazine. I will talk more about my tasks in the upcoming blog posts. Now, I will discuss my first weeks at Care of Carl.

There were many impressions the first week, not to mention all the names of my new colleagues I had to learn. During the intro week, I worked in all departments, including warehousing, studio photography, styling, and product specialisation. Exploring the various departments gave me a comprehensive understanding of the company and, not least, new colleagues and friends. After a few days of practice, I returned to the marketing department, where I will spend the upcoming weeks. As the days have passed, I have started to feel more comfortable in my role and the various tasks it involves. In short, my work role includes graphical work, ads management, and social media coordination which I will cover more in the next blog post. I am beyond excited to explore what the upcoming weeks will offer at my internship.

I hope this post finds you well.

Blog Michelle 1/3

Dear all!

Hope you all had a wonderful first 2 weeks at your internship.

First, I will give you all some background information about my internship. On the 28th of March I started my internship at a marketing agency specialised in influencer marketing. They work with different clients all over  Europe. However, I will mainly work with one client of theirs (a phone accessories brand), because they manage a lot of different aspects of the influencer marketing for them. This will be a great opportunity for me to learn all the in and outs of the whole influencer marketing process.

The first day started with a nice breakfast, which gave me the opportunity to get to know my new colleagues a bit in an informal way. The team is quite small (only four people) and everyone is working with their own clients. My supervisor made a schedule for me for the upcoming 10 weeks, it includes focus points per week and personal targets. This gives me a great overview of my task and targets per week and what I will get out of this internship at the end of my internship period. The first half of the internship period I will focus on influencer gifting. The first week it was important for me to get to know the client, find my way in the different files they are working with. My supervisor also explained to me their different processes such as creating an influencer pitching list, sending out an influencer pitching list and how to check and monitor coverage checking. I am also invited every week to the weekly meeting with the client, where they talk about the sales and new strategies, which is super interesting.

The second week I mainly worked on the task my supervisor explained to me in the first week. Which was nice, because now I was able to make the process a little bit more my own. This week my supervisor also explained to me how to place gifting orders in the order system of the client. I found it interesting to see which influencer names I pitched last week placed an order this week. I was also invited this week to join the quarter meeting from another (bigger) client. I got a lot of new insights from this meeting as they really talked me through all the sales data they are using to create their strategy.

These first 2 weeks went by so fast, and I am super excited for the coming weeks!

Hope you all have a well deserved weekend!

Michelle

First Weeks at Björn Borg

Hi!

I have finished the second week of my internship at Björn Borg in Stockholm! I am working in the Production Department in the Souring team. The Sourcing team consists of two others who graduated from our same programme in Textile Value Chain Management at the University of Borås, so I feel really lucky to have their insight and support. Björn Borg, as a sports fashion brand, has a strong company culture in health and fitness, so many people train everyday, but on Fridays we have mandatory group training with a personal trainer!

My experience so far consists on joining meetings with our Tier 1 suppliers in which we follow up on production, Covid restrictions and delays, confirm timeframes, and work to improve sustainability and performance. I attend meetings and webinars related to Björn Borg's sustainability strategy improving economic, environmental and social sustainability performance. I am also assisting in quality control in which we perform hands-on tests on sample products as well as evaluate quality reports coming directly from inline and final production. My individual tasks include conducting a benchmark report on the social compliancy auditor we currently use and compare the other options to see if they would like to switch providers in the future. Social compliancy auditor services allow us to monitor and improve the social performance of our vendors across the supply chain, so this includes maintaining standards such as fair wages and no child labour. The Sourcing team works directly with vendors to encourage and empower them to improve their social responsibility and environmental sustainability through incentives, education and maintaining a strong working relationship. It's been a challenging experience so far, but there is a considerable amount of overlap between what we've studied at university and what I'm doing in the workplace, so I'm very glad to have this internship opportunity.

Hope you all are enjoying your time!

Christine

Internship blogspot - alma (1/3)

 Hey all!

I have now worked for two weeks at my internship company and the days fly by filled with new challenges and new knowledge. My job at this company is to help market a specific product, so I work with marketing.

It contains everything from creating an information booklet about the product to hopefully eventually getting sales in the end, in any case that the company can use the information to get sales. What I have had to do so far is start to create an information booklet about the specific product. This means that I have to search and read information about it to have an understanding about the product and I have also contacted a company that today uses their product to then travel there to photograph it, to use the pictures for the information booklet. There is a wonderful group who work there and I get quick and good help when needed, which is appreciated when a new job assignment is to be carried out.

I appreciate the trust I have from the company, and the opportunity to create that kind of marketing in the way I think the product is best displayed, to create an information booklet where the goal is to send it out to all municipalities in Sweden.

Hope you all enjoy your internship!

Internship first week

Good morning everyone!

I have been on my internship at RevolutionRace for a week now and I'm superexcited about it. For you who are unfamiliar with the RR, it is a outdoor-clothing brand located in Borås and they do operate in over 30 countries these days. Their products are only distributed through an online channel and the products are pretty much known for being of very good quality, but to a fair price.

I work in influencer marketing department and we are a team at almost 30 people working in different markets around the world. My task will be to focus on the market in Switzerland since RR want to expand in that region. Right now I'm sitting and sourcing potential influencer that represent a certain lifestyle and the brands different communities such as, hiking-people, dog-people and the ski-community etc. Basically people who are performing any type of outdoor activity. I will source profiles this week as well so I will have a big amount of profiles, then the next step will be to establish contact and start a collaboration which will be very exciting. Switzerland is kind of unexplored territory so far, which makes it even more exciting to work with!

Anyway, it's a lot of fun, the team is increadible, very helpful and supportive and I'm really looking forward to next coming weeks at RevolutionRace!

Hope you all doing well!

Best regards, Sebastian!

First week reflection (post 1/3)

Dear Classmates,

This week was the first week of my internship at Newbody. For you who might not know, Newbody is a Swedish company that supports the swedish and finish youth association life. This is made possible as part of the sales are given back to the different associations that sell Newbody products and when purchasing online the customer can choose an association that the money will go to. The company was first in having this type of business model, which is a model many companies later have followed.

Now you all have some background regarding the company I will be spending these upcoming 10 weeks at, so I will move on to what I have been doing during this first week. As I have an internship position that is in between market and product I have the opportunity to get insight and move around at the different departments of the company and in addition to this, I will focus a lot on sustainability and participate in a sustainability project that will be connected to marketing. Therefore, this first week has been an introduction to the different departments and I have been participating in many meetings in the different departments such as marketing, inbound and product development as well as sales. This has included meetings with for example suppliers, different projects and so on. I have also been introduced to the work that the company is doing with STICA (Swedish Textile Initiative for Climate Action) and I have started to work on an external analysis of how competitors communicate sustainability on their websites. As I mentioned, there have been many meetings, and you might wonder why. Well this is because the company works with something that is called LEAN and daily stand-up meetings are a part of this strategy. Next week I will participate in a workshop about LEAN and will hopefully have more knowledge about it.

This first week has been full of new experiences and knowledge and I look forward to seeing what the future weeks will bring!

Wish you all best of luck and I hope you are finding your internships fun and educational!
