KappAhl in Shanghai part 2

Hello!

Almost five weeks of my internship have past, and since last time I have experienced a lot of things. Firstly, I have worked with the garment technicians where I mostly helped them to take measurements on samples and evaluate fitting on dummies. I also attended preproduction meetings, as the technicians and merchandisers have together with the quality controllers before production starts, to learn how such a meeting could be. Secondly, I have been introduced to the sustainability department where sustainability developers mainly work with code of conduct. The sustainability developers visit suppliers and factories located all over China, to regularly conduct inspections and follow up inspections regarding code of conduct. For instance, they control and make sure that safety, working conditions, etc. are in compliance with laws as well as with KappAhl’s requirements. One day we visited a factory to make a follow up inspection on the last inspection conducted a few months earlier. The whole visit was very interesting, and it was cool to see a Chinese textile industry irl! Finally, I also got invited to the office’s yearly outing. This time, it was a trip to Siming mountains, approx. 4 hours bus ride from Shanghai. The first day we had some outdoor activities for team building, and the second day we hiked in a valley. The hiking included an adventure trek with steep ladders, narrow rope bridges and zip-lines over a river, among other things. This was all for today's blog post 😙😙😙
