Popinjay

Hello everyone!

I am conducting individual field study on the topic of International Marketing. I am looking at a Pakistani brand (Popinjay), which is famous for its ethical business practices and uses the hand craft skills of rural women of Pakistan to produce amazing hand bags. The core strength of the brand is its transparent and ethical practices and the fact that it empowers women. The highlight of Popinjay’s product is its embroideries. The main purpose of the study is to see how a brand from a different part of the world can approach an international market and extend it operations globally. The initial few weeks went by in understanding the brand, the story behind the brand and how it currently operates.

In the later weeks I plan to carry out study of the Swedish retail industry and the local consumer to understand how Popinjay can make a competitive standing in this market. Soon you will hear from me again!
